  Why not join the Club for a back roads day ride to lunch at the Tumblong Tavern, Tumblong? If you’d prefer a shorter ride, then why not join the first leg of the ride through to Harden-Murrumburrah for coffee (135 km)?

  Outbound: via the Barton and Hume Hwys, Lachlan Valley Way, Cunningar Rd and Burley Griffin Way to Harden-Murrrumburrah (with coffee/rest stop at Barnes Store Emporium Cafe), then picking up the Olympic Hwy at Wallendbeen, onto Old Gundagai and Muttama Rds to Coolac Rest Area (regroup), then Gobarralong, Darbalara and Brungle Rds for a scenic, winding ride through to Gundagai and onto Tumblong for lunch (265km): Google Maps

  Return: each to their own and to decide on the day with options including:

  • via Hume Hwy (160km):   Google Maps
  • via Hume Hwy to Jugiong, Jugiong Rd and Burley Griffin Way (200 km):  Google Maps
  • via Wantabagery, Junee, Cootamundra, Harden and Burley Griffin Way (263km):   Google Maps

  Approximately 425-530 km return (depending on return route) on sealed main and secondary roads. Expect some road surfaces to be damaged. Break/stop if needed on the return leg to be decided on the day.

  GS Riders: Those keen to detour for fun on gravel or dirt are more than welcome to join en route, or at the pub. The 30km Tarrabandra Rd loop off Brungle Rd is always a good ride when dry (25km of dirt):  Google Maps

  Meeting Point: Meet fuelled and ready to go at Ampol/Caltex Foodary (Curran  Drive, Gold Creek (Nicholls)) for a prompt 08:20 departure.

  It’s time to start adjusting to cool climate riding so why not zip in a layer and join the Club for a leisurely Saturday ride to the Majors Creek Pub for lunch?

  Outbound: from Sutton via QBN, Briars Sharrow Rd to Bungendore then onto Braidwood and Majors Creek (120 km) for lunch at 12:15: Google Maps

  Return: Via Braidwood and Bungendore to then disperse northside/southside.

  Approximately 240 km return on sealed main and secondary roads (expect some damaged surfaces).  

  Meeting Point: Meet fuelled and ready to go (both you and your bike!) at the Little Sutton Bakehouse (Sutton Bakery), Victoria St, Sutton, for a prompt 10:30 departure.

  Note: We’re riding straight through with no rest stop, so if you’re programmed to eat mid-morning, suggest you fill up at Sutton first!

  If you haven’t got plans for the ACT May long weekend, then why not join the Club for a weekend ride on sealed roads through the Rylstone, Bylong, Gulgong and Hill End region? Outbound on the Saturday (overnighting in Rylstone), riding Sunday (overnighting in Hill End) and returning home on the Monday. Those short on time are welcome to join for the first leg to Taralga for coffee, or for one night rather than two (either Rylstone or Hill End – your choice!).

  • Present & vote on the audited BMWMCC Inc. 2023 Financial Statement.  No hard copies will be provided (print your own copy).  Members need to vote on the 2023 Financial Statement as part of our continued incorporation.

  • • Only financial members can nominate, second and stand for election to the Committee.  Completed nomination forms PDF or MS Word must be emailed or posted to the Secretary@bmwmcc.au 8 business days before the AGM commences.
    • The President can call for nominations to positions not filled by nomination/nominee/vote at the AGM.

  The BMWMCC will host the 2024 joint Club Christmas in Winter dinner at the Finley RSC Finley NSW.  Click for a Google Map.

  BMWMCC and BMWMCCVIC members, partners and friends need to book their own accomodation and meet at the RSL from 1700 for dinner (menu @ April 2024) and order and pay for your own dinner and drinks at the venue.  The BMWMCC has arranged for a separate table area.

  

  The Finley RSC operates a courtesy bus to/from the club.  To arrange a pickup call the Club on 03 5883 1366.  The bus operates every 30 minutes and finishes ~2130.

  Note:  Other than service stations there is not to much open for breakfast on Sunday morning (your accomodation may have in-house guest options).  The BMWMCC registration includes a EOI for a cooked breakfast of egg & bacon rolls and coffee or juice for $10pp cash on the day.  Subject to a club member driving and availability of members to assist.  Use the registration form and registrants will be advised yes/no on breakfast before the weekend.

  For the serious adventure rider then the OCR is a 40+ year classic.  Held every two years and involving a ride to a remote Australian location.

  For 2022 the rally heads to Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary in the Flinders Ranges South Australia 1620km from Canberra.  How to get there map.

  The OCR is in a remote part of Australia with limited support of any kind.  Intending riders and their motorcycle need to be well prepared, allow for contingencies and be flexible to evolving conditions.  Having plenty of cash will also help with accommodation and mix of 5 star bush camping or Pubs. 

  Recovery of people and motorcycles is expensive from the remote areas of Australia.  Make sure you have ambulance cover as a minimum and take advantage of the Club Member Rider & First Aid Training program beforehand.  Otherwise plan on a great ride.  Follow the story on Adventure Rider www.advrider.com.

  BMWMC Club Members:  for Club members interested there will be a group ride leaving Canberra late July for the Border Run @ Eucla 3-4 August followed by the Off Centre Rally @ Arkaroola 10-11 August and return over 3-4 weeks.

  The 43rd Kosciuskzo Camp will be held at the Geehi Hut Campground located on the sealed Alpine Way in the picturesque Snowy Mountains and home to some of the best motorcycling roads in Australia.  Camp supplies can be purchased at Thredbo (43km) or Khancoban (31km).

  The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service require individual campsites for 1-6 persons to be pre-booked online here https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/camping-and-accommodation/campgrounds/geehi-flats-campground.   KNP also has park use fees for persons camping overnight and provides no rubbish facilities.  The Club freely gives out rubbish bags and asks that you take your rubbish home with you.

  The Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) have today released the 2024 Provisional MotoGP™ Calendar, with the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix scheduled to be held from 18th – 20th October 2024.

  2024 will mark the 35th anniversary of the first Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix to be held at the world-renowned Phillip Island circuit in 1989.
